O'Leary Walker

O’Leary Walker is the culmination of two very successful winemaking careers. David O’Leary and Nick Walker commenced the business in 2000, and purchased the historic Adelaide Hills Johnston Brewery site in 2015.

Those interested in the iconic brewing history of the Adelaide Hills will be captivated by this heritage-listed site. The tastefully-designed cellar door is steeped in history, which is marked by the exposed beams in the remaining buildings of the former brewery.

For David O’Leary there is a strong connection to this site, as both his father and grandfather were involved in the former Johnston Brewery business, and as a result O’Leary spent his childhood growing up in Oakbank. Immersed in history, this site is home to the first South Australian brewery.

Within one and a half kilometres of the O’Leary family vineyards, this peaceful and historical site provides a home for the company’s Adelaide Hills range of premium wines.

Nestled next to the famous Oakbank racecourse, O’Leary Walker provides a peaceful space to enjoy premium wines and share-platters on the grounds of a historic site.

With a successful winery also in the Clare Valley, O’Leary Walker continues to gain national and international success from its premium Adelaide Hills range, which was awarded a 5-star rating from James Halliday.

The wines are regionally distinct, with fruit picked from the 10-hectare Oakbank vineyard. Celebrating 15 years of winemaking in 2015, O’Leary Walker has truly established its reputation for producing award-winning regional wines at affordable prices.
