Jeanneret Wines

Jeanneret Wines was established in 1992 by Pat and Denis Jeanneret. When Denis went to work in Malaysia, however, their son Ben was left to fathom the science and wonders behind turning grape’s into wine.

Today, Ben crushes approximately 300 tonnes of fruit which produces 12,000 cases of wine, which he makes with passion and a good dose of maverick spirit and humour.

With its 40 hectares of vines, Jeanneret Wines specialises in shiraz, riesling, cabernet sauvignon and malbec. Wines such as the Hummer Merlot – a particularly opulent wine – come along rarely, but are worth the wait.

Jeanneret Wines also owns the Clare Valley Brewing Company. Operating since 2013, the company brews ale, stout and cider. Clare Valley Brewing Company is proud of the region and its fine agriculture, and has set out to brew beers of a provincial nature, utilising the very best of the Clare Valley.

Jeanneret Wines sells its wines and beers at the Hop & Vine tasting room in Auburn, as well as through its cellar door in Sevenhill. The wines can be purchased both by the case and in mixed cases, so the flavours of their mouth-watering red and white wines can be savoured across the country.

Tours of the winery and the brewery are also available by appointment and are a popular service among locals and tourists alike.
For an enjoyable wine tasting experience, look no further than Jeanneret Wines.

2014 Jeanneret Big Fine Girl Riesling

This wine has a pretty nose of ripe, fresh apple. There’s a refreshing undertone of freshly-sliced apricot and lemon and lime. Perfect on its own or with delicate foods such as plainly-grilled white fish.

2014 Jeanneret Rank and File Shiraz

Absolutely opaque with a narrow crimson rim, this shiraz has a nose of cassis, spice, chocolate and sugar- dusted black plums. Intense and mouth-coating on the palate, it unfurls with a delicious silkiness as the dark fruit is shot through with spice.

2010 Denis Shiraz

Possibly the best shiraz Jeanneret Wines has ever made, this wine is utterly striking with its black colour palette and dark fruit flavours. A silken blanket of black cherry bitumen overtakes your taste buds with an overwhelming depth and intensity. This shiraz perfectly complements a meal of venison and roast pheasants.

2009 Doozie Riesling

This wine is reminiscent of an elegant white burgundy, with a well- balanced, almost creamy flavour palette. Best served cool, but not cold, it’s full of ripe juice with a lingering taste of grapefruit and lime notes swirling through the acidity.
