Caudo Vineyard

Right on the doorstep of the mighty Murray River, Caudo Vineyard’s cellar door is an iconic stop on your Riverland adventure. Whether you arrive by boat or car, you will be captivated by the picturesque scenery at Caudo Vineyard. The proud family-owned business is a thriving hub of activity in summer, and a perfect place to sit by the campfire on a cold winter’s day. The vast, manicured lawn area slopes down to the banks of the river and has an array of seating available, including riverside picnic tables and private booths nestled into the riverbank.

The property was established in the late 1800s as a stop for paddle steamers to replenish their wood supplies. Originally known as a rose farm, the history of the property is celebrated in the logo, products, vineyard block names, original buildings and the monuments around the site. The friendly staff will guide you through the history of the property as you browse the various historic photographs and flood markers.

Visitors can taste the boutique varieties of wine available, including refreshing whites and flavoursome, Mediterranean reds. Caudo Vineyard offers wine, sangria, local craft beer and craft cider, as well as quality, barista-made cappuccinos.

Sip on the famous summer-inspired red-and-white sangria, which is flavoured with tropical fruits, citrus and creamy butterscotch – the ideal drink for lounging by the river. Pair your wine with a delicious local tasting platter that showcases produce from the region, or feed the family with a ‘cook your own’ table-top barbecue. On the weekend, be treated to authentic, freshly made wood-fired pizzas that are available in a variety of classic flavours.

Be among the first to tour along the river on The Grape Escape, which is a new luxury, high-powered tour vessel. Taste Riverland wine at its finest while enjoying scenic views on the 30 seater adventure river cruise.

Throughout the summer, Caudo Vineyard welcomes many local and international artists. The winery also hosts numerous events, including the True Grit military-inspired obstacle course. The combination of unique beverages, moorish food and 180-degree views of the breathtaking Murray River makes Caudo Vineyard a must-visit venue. Fury family members are also welcome.
