Patrick of Coonawarra

Patrick of Coonawarra was established by celebrated winemaker Patrick Tocaciu, and the winery’s name reflects his iconic status within South Australia’s winemaking industry. During a decorated career spanning more than three decades, Patrick celebrated international accolades while working as a chief winemaker for several major labels.

After years in the industry, the focus for Patrick switched to fulfilling a more personal goal in the establishment of the family-owned and -operated Patrick of Coonawarra in 2004. Patrick’s eldest son, Luke, has now taken over the family business and continues to produce highly-regarded wines, following in his father’s footsteps.

Specialising in cabernet sauvignon and riesling varieties, but also producing other wines including chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, shiraz and pinot noir, Patrick of Coonawarra produces only the highest quality fruit from its 80 hectares of enviable estate-owned and -managed vineyards to ensure an unwavering commitment to quality.

Patrick of Coonawarra delivers handcrafted, premium wines with personality and regionality. The wines highlight what this gorgeous, cool-climate region has to offer.

With a cellar door open to visitors seven days a week, you can enjoy the idyllic view of the gardens while wine tasting in the cellar door. You can even soak up the sun and have a picnic on the lawn area.

The winery’s stellar reputation is further cemented by a string of recent awards, including five major trophies for the Patrick Estate Riesling and Aged Patrick Riesling in the last five years.

Patrick of Coonawarra’s flagship Grande Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon has been awarded 96 points by James Halliday, and the Home Block Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded 95 points. These accolades are a testament to Patrick and the team’s dedication to producing handcrafted, quality wines.
