Wirra Wirra is a picturesque ironstone winery with more than 100 years of history under its belt. as its aboriginal name suggests, Wirra Wirra is nestled ‘among the gums’ in mclaren Vale.

From the call of the towering angelus Bell that sits atop the winery, to the massive post and rail fence known as ‘Woodhenge’, Wirra Wirra offers a unique and memorable winery experience.

Best known for its famous red Church Block blend, winemaker Paul Smith and his team deliver rich and textured red wines, and stunning cool-climate whites from the adelaide Hills.

Wirra Wirra’s award-winning cellar door offers visitors a multitude of experiences, including free tastings, cellar door exclusives and limited release wines.

In addition to Wirra Wirra’s classic range of wines, platters of regional produce are available to be enjoyed among the stunning gardens of the winery. The covered barbecue area is fantastic for friends and families who want to get together and cook up a feast (and can also be booked for groups on request).

Wirra Wirra is now offering a range of behind-the-scenes tours, where visitors can ring the famous angelus Bell, or simply absorb the sights, sounds and smells of a historic working winery and traditional cellar door. These tours offer a fabulous insight into the history of Wirra Wirra Vineyards and the region.

With all of this on offer, it’s no wonder that Wirra Wirra is a James Halliday 5-star rated winery and has been awarded Best Cellar Door in the Gourmet Traveller WIne magazine.



2015 Wirra Wirra Mrs Wigley Grenache Rose

This wine is superbly dry in style, very different to what its bright colour may suggest. made from 100 per cent mclaren Vale grenache, it is jam-packed full of tangy fruit acidity from juicy berries and hints of orange peel, as well as peppermint and sweet spice that leads to a crisp, refreshing finish.

2014 Wirra Wirra Church Block Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Merlot

Over four decades, the Church Block label has become an australian favourite, consistently offering a smooth, soft red wine that balances the complexity sought by aficio- nados, with the approachability desired by those simply seeking pure drinking pleasure.

2015 Wirra Wirra Catapult Shiraz

This shiraz is part of the richard Gregory Trott (rGT) collection, which remembers the spirit of Greg Trott. This drinkable wine has a medium- bodied structure that offers generous volumes of flavour and texture. a heady mix of blue fruits, damson plum, anise and peaty, savoury notes are countered with a bright acidity and silky, plush tannins. a long and supple palate that continues to invite another taste.

2013 Wirra Wirra RSW Shiraz

This wine, named after robert Strangways Wigley (rSW), is rich with raspberries, blue fruits, and blackberries. The sophisticated palate is further infused with spice and chocolate. There is great length and focus, and a wonderful balance between vibrancy, power, and elegance.
