Hardys Tintara

Located on the main street of McLaren Vale, Hardys Tintara has been at the heart and soul of the region since its establishment in 1876, when Thomas Hardy took over a disused flour mill.

Since then, Hardys Tintara has applied the same principles used by generations of winemakers before, while also embracing the best in modern-day winemaking technology. Even today, Hardys Tintara continues to build on its identity, with serious investments going into its historic site and a team that takes great delight in informing visitors about where it all began.

Hardys Tintara is becoming one of the region’s great tourism attractions, because visitors can experience the rich history that goes into running a business for more than 160 years, as well as taste premium wines.

Visitors can catch a glimpse of the inner workings of the winery from a specially- constructed viewing platform, which looks directly out to one of its busiest cellars, as well as panels that explain the entire winemaking process – a great way to start a day of wine tasting.

Looking ahead, Hardys Tintara will be adding a special room to its cellar door that is dedicated to fortified wines, as well as displaying an impressive antique still. The winery is also preparing for a brand new cellar door to welcome all visitors to the home of Hardys Tintara’s wines.

It’s an exciting time for this renowned winery, so make sure you come and see the new developments, and try some exclusive cellar-door wines, such as the amazing Upper Tintara Shiraz. The structured tastings include the best Hardys Tintara wines on offer, and are a fantastic way to while away an afternoon.
