Blesing's Garden Glenholme Vineyards

Glenholme was a sheep and dairy cattle property right up until 1998, when David and Margaret Blesing planted the first vines which would later become Blesing’s Garden Glenholme Vineyards.

Cherry, mint and raspberry are evident on the restrained nose, which follows through on the palate, and are complemented by sweet milk- chocolate and maraschino cherry. Fine tannins are complemented by a dry acid finish, giving a clean and lean mouthfeel. This wine demands Italian or Mediterranean food to show its style, depth and balance. A 4.5-star wine.

Blesing’s Garden Glenholme Vineyards’ cellar door offers outstanding views of the surrounding landscape, complete with rolling hills and lush forest. The cellar door is nestled in a garden interspersed with unique and interesting sculptures and offers wine tastings and tasting plates from local producers. The winery also provides Devonshire tea and homemade scones to sweeten the deal.

The winery has a distinct reputation for producing quality wines, with its shiraz, nebbiolo, merlot and riesling achieving consistently high-ranking awards. Blesing’s Garden Glenholme Vineyards is well worth the trip.

2010 Blesing’s Garden Shiraz

Slightly earthy notes to the savoury, chocolaty-nose, with even more chocolate following through to the blackcurrant fruit palate. A fresh and creamy oak complexity with lively mouthfeel. A 4.5-star wine.

2011 Blesing’s Garden Nebbiolo

Located on a narrow strip of terra rossa soil that separates the Wirrabara Forest from the rugged backbone of the Southern Flinders Ranges, the property’s 11.5 hectares under vine grows high-quality grapes due to its natural limestone base.
