Since its inception in 1994, Torbreck has continued to build its reputation as one of the best wineries in the world. Torbreck’s first-class wines are grown from small quanitites of dry-grown old vines from the North-Western fringe of the Barossa Valley.

These prime growing conditions, coupled with the expertise of the vintner, ensures that every wine produced at Torbreck is to the highest standard. Testament to this is the company’s status as one of the top 100 wine estates in the world, according to leading wine critic Robert Parker.

The vineyard includes 86 hectares under vine and produces 18 different wines each year.

Wines produced at Torbreck have set the standard for modern-style Australian reds and whites, as they capture the best of the old vine vineyards in the Barossa Valley with their sensitivity towards fruit purity and overall balance.

According to Parker, “the spectacular current and upcoming releases are among the most exciting wines being made on planet earth”.

Customers can taste the entire range of Torbreck wines at the cellar door with a $5 tasting fee, which is redeemable on purchases. VIP tastings are also available (bookings essential) for a maximum of ten people – perfect for a small gathering of friends.

2012 The Laird

Made from small, concentrated shiraz berries from the unirrigated, south- facing, hand-tended Gnadenfrei vineyard, 2012 The Laird is completely dirt-driven. Cool conditions resulted in a slow ripening period that achieved aromatic ripeness and sublime purity of the fruit. Full of complexity, precision and prominence, it will age gracefully for more than 20 years.

2014 RunRig

Blending old dry-grown shiraz with viognier, 2014 RunRig is a complex wine with intense, lifted aromatics; dense cherry plum and subtle lavender come to the fore on an opulent base of black olive and cassis. A silky palate interweaves deep-red cherry, clove and liquorice with sweet spice and cinnamon, which evolve in the glass to anise, blackberry, pepper and hints of earth.

2015 Descendant

Benefitting from early rains, the wonderfully fresh, balanced and full- bodied 2015 Descendant has good acidity and a rich, pure profile. Intense perfumed fruits are complemented with lavender and spice. Dense dark cherry and blueberries are interwoven with nuanced white peach, spice and cinnamon. Retaining supple tannins, this suave wine has a long future ahead.

2014 The Factor

Predominately from the Gomersal and Ebenezer subregions, 2014 The Factor has a rich and textured palate with pure fruits and subtle notes of olive tapenade, saddle leather and spice. Dense dark plum, black pepper and spice are supported by a dark core of ripe blackberries, leather and earth. When cellared, this lavish, brooding and densely packed wine will slowly unravel its beguiling riches over time.
