Wolf Blass Visitor Centre

A business that has enjoyed a long and successful history in winemaking, Wolf Blass Visitor Centre offers wine enthusiasts a chance to discover why the brand has become so recognisable and well-respected.

The founder of Wolf Blass, Wolfgang Blass, established his winery in 1973 and introduced the Wolf Blass Black Label to the public. What followed was a quick succession of highly-esteemed wine awards, such as three consecutive Jimmy Watson Trophies from the years 1974–76. From here, the Wolf Blass legacy was born.

Today, Wolf Blass Visitor Centre offers its guests two exceptional winetasting sessions – the Luxury Experience and Blend it Like Blass. The Luxury Experience involves a relaxing, sit-down tasting that guides drinkers through its premium portfolio of wines, including the iconic Platinum Label Shiraz. Alternatively, visitors can opt for Blend it

Like Blass, a session to splash about, taste-test and experiment with two Wolf Blass wines to create your own blended varietal.

Wolf Blass Visitor Centre also provides a function centre for weddings, functions and conferences. With a number of rooms and facilities – including The Barrel Hall and The Platinum Function Room – the staff offers a complete personal service, with wine experts and educators eager to help you host an unforgettable event.

It is undeniable that the Wolf Blass brand is a firm-favourite among the general public and wine professionals alike. Rated a 5-star winery in James Halliday’s 2014 Australian Wine Companion, Wolf Blass Visitor Centre’s future is promising.

The centre also provides cheese plates, local gourmet produce, barista coffee and handmade desserts, so you can enjoy your time at Wolf Blass Visitor Centre with a full belly.

TASTING NOTES

2011 Wolf Blass Gold Label Pinot Noir Chardonnay

The bouquet offers a complex blend of delicate citrus and strawberry fruit, with underlying biscotti flavours and yeast lees influence. The palate is elegant and creamy with intense strawberry characters derived from fine pinot noir, balanced with yeasty complexity. It provides a delicate mousse, refined acidity and displays excellent line and length.

2012 Wolf Blass Grey Label Shiraz

A richly-flavoured, generous and sophisticated McLaren Vale shiraz. This wine is perhaps the definitive expression of regional and varietal pairing, carrying the distinctive Wolf Blass hallmarks of power and elegance. Shiraz from McLaren Vale is synonymous with the plush, rich and velvety nature of Wolf Blass’ Grey Label.

2013 Wolf Blass White Label Chardonnay

A sophisticated and complex wine with pristine and elegant fruit, fine mineral acidity and great depth of flavour. This wine is selected from distinguished vineyard sites in the Piccadilly Valley district of South Australia’s Adelaide Hills.

2010 Wolf Blass Black Label 38th Vintage Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz

A powerful expression of Wolf Blass’ philosophy of synergistic blending. The Black Label is built on persistence of flavour, seamless texture and long, velvety tannins, with opulent, yet elegant fruit from Barossa Valley, Langhorne Creek and McLaren Vale. It provides richness, depth and exceptional complexity.
